(34) Termination of the United States Postal Service Interruption and Emergency under 35 U.S.C. 21(a) The southern California Wildfires, on October 22, 2007, resulted in a number of United States Postal Service (USPS) post offices throughout southern California being closed or not accepting mail. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published a notice on Friday, October 26, 2007, on its Internet Web site designating this interruption in the service of the USPS as a postal service interruption and an emergency within the meaning of 35 U.S.C. § 21(a), 37 CFR 1.10(i) and 2.195(e). The USPS has notified the USPTO that this interruption in the service of the USPS ended on Thursday, October 25, 2007. Therefore, this Notice sets forth that the USPTO terminated the designation of this interruption in the service of the USPS as a postal service interruption and an emergency as of the close of October 25, 2007, within the meaning of 35 U.S.C. § 21(a), 37 CFR 1.10(i) and 2.195(e).
