Are you interested in learning about the USPTO's National Summer Teacher Institute (NSTI) and how it can help you engage with your students about innovation, intellectual property (IP), and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)?
Join the USPTO's Office of Education January 30, 6-7:30 p.m. ET, for an information session about NSTI. You'll hear NTSI alumni, Tyler Dufrene and Yaritza Ortiz, share about their experiences and discuss new strategies you can use with your students' using invention and intellectual property education.
In addition to hearing from Yaritza and Tyler, the USPTO's Office of Education will guide participants through the 2024 NSTI application process.
What is NSTI?
The NSTI program, put on by the USPTO's Office of Education, is designed to help teachers inspire the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs using experiential training tools, practices, and project-based learning models. The program is open to eligible K-12 teachers nationwide.
USPTO Professional development webinars
The USPTO hosts monthly professional development webinars for K-12 educators interested in integrating IP, innovation, and invention activities into their STEM/STEAM curriculum. Whether you’re a school administrator, teacher, student, parent, or caregiver, you are welcome to join us every month to hear from educators and learn about different types of IP, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. These sessions can help inspire a classroom of problem solvers and shape career choices. Sessions are held by webinar on the last Tuesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. ET.
