The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) operates a headquarters and Northeast Regional Outreach Office in Alexandria, Virginia, and four additional regional outreach offices across the nation. Combined with our examining corps, our outreach offices provide inventors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses with a USPTO presence in every U.S. time zone. Additionally, we designate libraries across the country and U.S. territories as Patent and Trademark Resource Centers (PTRCs), which offer public access to products and services, patent and trademark training, and reference assistance and outreach.
