Current status of USPTO systems
Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) Reading Room is Partially Down
The USPTO will perform routine maintenance on TTAB Reading Room from 9-11 p.m. ET on Friday, May 9.
During this maintenance period, users may not be able to retrieval documents.
Upcoming planned events
Bulk Data Storage System (BDSS) Retirement
The USPTO is planning to retire BDSS on Friday April 11, 2025. To access similar data, users may use the Bulk Data Directory feature in new Open Data Portal (ODP).
Support resources are available to help you, including information on getting started and transitioning Application Program Interfaces (APIs), and more.
Open Data Portal (OPD) Maintenance
The USPTO will be performing a routine deployment on the ODP to include Final Petition Decisions, from 12:01-2 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 15.
Please be advised that ODP may experience intermittent service disruptions during the scheduled deployment window.
Details about the Final Petition Decisions release will be available in the release notes after the deployment.
Multiple Systems Maintenance
The USPTO will perform maintenance affecting multiple systems from 12:01-4 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 15 and 12:01-4 a.m. ET on Friday, May 16.
During the maintenance period, user access to the following applications may be interrupted:

- Certified Copy Center (CCC)
- Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC)
- Fee Processing (Fees)
- MyUSPTO
- Office of Enrollment and Discipline - Customer Interface (OEDCI)
- Patent Center
- Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (PTACTS)
- Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
- Assignment Center
- Trademark Electronic Application System International- (TEASi)
- Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
- Trademark Center
- Trademark Examination (TM-EXM)
- Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Center (TTAB-Center)
- Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
Patent Customers: During the maintenance period, impacted applicants may refer to our Filing Documents during an Outage page for other alternative filing methods.
PTAB/P-TACTS Customers: If your deadline is today for the petition filing and/or other associated documents to a pending America Invents Act (AIA) case and you cannot file electronically via Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS), you may use an alternate filing method. Please visit the P-TACTS FAQ page and see A2 for information concerning your America Invents Act (AIA) petition filing and/or document filing using P-TACTS alternative filing methods.

Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) and TEAS International (TEASi) Maintenance
The USPTO will perform maintenance on TEAS and TEASi from 7:30- 8 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 15.
Trademark Center will be unaffected.
In preparation for this maintenance, please file all saved forms and complete all e-signature requests by 7:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, May 15.
If you don't complete your submissions by that time, you will have to start the process again with new forms.
Fee Payment Processing Maintenance
The USPTO will perform routine maintenance on the USPTO financial systems from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 17.
This maintenance is to comply with the Department of the Treasury's Financial Management Quality Service Management Office standard systems offerings, of which USPTO was the first federal agency to join, and which complies with Executive Order 14249 on Protecting America's Bank Account.
During the maintenance period, users will be unable to process fee payments for the following storefronts:

- Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)
- Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)

The following online financial services will be unavailable:
- Patent maintenance fee bulk payment submissions
- Requests to create a new USPTO deposit account
- Requests to close a USPTO deposit account
- Requests to withdraw funds from a USPTO deposit account
If you're unable to wait to pay a fee until the maintenance has concluded, the following alternative payment method options are available:

Trademark Customers: Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends. If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.

Publication Site for Issued and Published Sequences (PSIPS) Maintenance
The USPTO will perform routine maintenance on the PSIPS user interface beginning at 11 p.m. ET on Monday, May 19 and ending at 5 a.m. ET on Tuesday, May 20.
There will be a short outage during the maintenance period.
