Topic: Leveraging a Harmonized Patent Classification System
The USPTO’s Patent Quality Chat webinar continues its 2018 series on October 9, from noon – 1 p.m. ET, with “Leveraging a Harmonized Patent Classification System.”
Join us this month to hear about how the Office of International Patent Cooperation (OIPC) at the USPTO contributes to the development of the Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) system and other international classification harmonization efforts. The USPTO and European Patent Office (EPO) jointly developed the CPC, which provides over 45 patent offices and 32,000 patent examiners access to the patent documents of many countries, including Korea, Israel and China. External users also benefit from patent classification harmonization efforts, which improve searching and patenting activity analysis. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and answering your questions about CPC and international classification harmonization efforts. Please send your input and questions to patentquality@uspto.gov before and during the event.
This webinar would be of interest to all those involved in patent prosecution and patent searching.
No registration is necessary to attend; the Webinar Link to join is available in the left margin.
The Patent Quality Chat webinar series is presented as a part of the USPTO’s continuous efforts to improve patent quality.
