Trademark basics: What every small business should know now, not later

Join the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) on Wednesday, January 25 from 1:30-3 p.m. CT for a discussion about what all entrepreneurs, small businesses, and start-ups should know about trademarks.

This virtual event will feature guest speaker Jason Lott, Managing Attorney for Trademarks Customer Outreach, USPTO.

Topics will include:

  • Explanation of trademarks
  • Benefits of federal trademark registration
  • Basics of the registration process

During this virtual event, we'll also discuss why it’s so important for any new business to select a trademark that is both federally registrable and legally protectable. We’ll close out the discussion with a question-and-answer session and direct you to free resources from the USPTO.
