From the iconic five rings to the Olympic torch, trademarks play a pivotal role in protecting the unique identity of the Olympic Games. Join us on June 11 at 3 p.m. ET to learn more about intellectual property (IP) protection at the world’s largest sporting event, just in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Commissioner for Trademarks David Gooder will host Associate General Counsel for Intellectual Property with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Dana Jozefczyk for a lively fireside chat about trademarks and the Olympics. They will discuss the essential and special role that trademarks play in the Olympic Games and Jozefczyk's work to educate stakeholders on the importance of trademark protection for the USOPC.
In her role with the USOPC, Jozefczyk handles the prosecution and management of a broad portfolio of intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks. Before joining the USOPC, Jozefczyk was a partner at Merchant & Gould P.C. as part of the firm’s trademark group.
