Greg Dodson joined the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2016 as the Deputy Commissioner for Trademark Administration. His management responsibilities include oversight of the Trademarks organization's information technology (IT) capability, customer support, personnel, and financial planning.
The business units under Mr. Dodson's oversight support the Commissioner for Trademarks’ goal of building a cutting-edge, end-to-end IT enterprise by providing analysis, innovation, development, management, and data quality. Additionally, they focus on audio-visual creative support, website and filing system content, and performance planning and financial management.
Prior to joining the USPTO, Mr. Dodson worked for General Dynamics Information Technology, where he supported IT services to the U.S. Department of Defense. Before that, he was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, holding commands in the United States and while deployed.
Mr. Dodson received a Bachelor of Science in management information systems, a Master of Education in international relations, and a Master of Science in national resource strategy.
