The FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) Championship is a four-day robotics competition held annually in April. Tens of thousands of students from grades K-12 compete as teams to explore the innovation process and build STEM and digital-literacy skills. The event dates for the Houston competition are April 18-21, 2018; the event dates for the Detroit competition are April 25-28, 2018.
On Friday, April 20 from 11:00am - 1:00pm CT, Texas Regional Office Regional Director Hope Shimabuku will be a featured speaker at the 2018 Women in STEM Panel at the First Innovation Fair in Houston. The workshop will include a panel Q&A to give participants an opportunity to ask questions of women in STEM.
