A Conversation with Prolific IBM Inventor Lisa Seacat DeLuca

We are very pleased that Ms. Lisa Seacat DeLuca, holder of well over 380 U.S. Patents will be joining the Silicon Valley USPTO to speak about her career. Ms. DeLuca is the most prolific female inventor in IBM history, and her accomplishments have been recognized widely throughout industry. In 2016, she was named by the Internet of Things (IoT) Institute as one of the Most Influential Women in IoT. Prior to that, Ms. DeLuca was featured as one of MIT’s 35 Innovators Under 35 and recognized as one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business. She currently serves as a technology strategist in the Cognitive Incubation Lab for IBM Watson Customer Engagement. Ms. DeLuca will provide an overview of her career, and then be joined by West Coast Regional Director John Cabeca and Texas Regional Director Hope Shimabuku for a fireside chat addressing topics of interest to the intellectual property and start-up community in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay area. Topics will include resources and services that the Silicon Valley USPTO and other regional offices can provide across the broader innovation ecosystem, from K-12 programs, IP education for start-ups, and advanced legal programs for IP practitioners.

For those interested, a tour of the Silicon Valley USPTO office, highlighting many of the above resources, will follow the program.
