Hear from a Patent Trial and Appeal Board Judge and a Supervisory Patent Examiner from the Central Re-Examination Unit about options available for challenging an issued patent before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).  The seminar will cover
Ex Parte Reexamination, Supplemental Examination, and Examination of Reissue applications.  Topics will include:

  •          Overview of types of examination proceedings
  •          Purpose of examination proceedings
  •          Scope of examination proceedings
  •          Amendment practices

Additionally, the seminar will cover the four different AIA Trial proceedings: Inter Partes Reviews (IPR), Post Grant Reviews (PGR), Covered Business Method Reviews (CBM), and Derivation proceedings. 

The seminar is intended for patent practitioners who are familiar with patent prosecution practices.
