Fee Payment Processing Maintenance

The USPTO will perform routine maintenance on the USPTO financial systems from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 17.

This maintenance is to comply with the Department of the Treasury's Financial Management Quality Service Management Office standard systems offerings, of which USPTO was the first federal agency to join, and which complies with Executive Order 14249 on Protecting America's Bank Account.

During the maintenance period, users will be unable to process fee payments for the following storefronts:

  • Electronic System for Trademark Trials and Appeals (ESTTA)
  • Patent Center (PC)
  • Patent Trial and Appeal Case Tracking System (P-TACTS)
  • Patent Maintenance Fees Storefront (FPNG)
  • Trademark Center (TC)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)
  • Trademark Electronic Application System International (TEASi)
  • Trademark Trial and Appeal Board Center (TTABC)
  • Assignment Center (IPAS)
  • Office of Enrollment and Discipline Customer Interface (OEDCI)
  • Certified Copy Center (CCC)

The following online financial services will be unavailable:

  • Patent maintenance fee bulk payment submissions
  • Requests to create a new USPTO deposit account
  • Requests to close a USPTO deposit account
  • Requests to withdraw funds from a USPTO deposit account

If you're unable to wait to pay a fee until the maintenance has concluded, the following alternative payment method options are available:
Patent/PTAB/P-TACTS Customers: For more information about submitting alternative methods of payments during system maintenance, please visit here.
Trademark Customers: Filing deadlines that fall on a Saturday extend the filing deadline to the next business day. Please try filing again after the maintenance ends. If you have any questions, contact the TEAS Team by email at TEAS@uspto.gov.
