China IP Road Show

Strategies for trademark protection in China

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s China Intellectual Property (IP) Road Show comes to Baltimore, Maryland, on November 1, with a free, half-day program that will bring together experts from the U.S. government, academics, IP attorneys, and local business people to share their insights on China and trademark issues that will benefit U.S. IP rights holders.

The road show is one of a series of such programs that the USPTO is conducting across the country. It has been organized in cooperation with the University of Maryland’s Francis King Carey School of Law and the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Baltimore.

Topics to be covered include:

  • What you need to know about protecting your trademarks in China
  • Creating and managing a trademark portfolio in China
  • Enforcing IP rights in China, including from an e-commerce perspective

The University of Maryland Carey School of Law is located at the intersection of Baltimore and Paca Streets, just a few blocks west of downtown Baltimore and north of the stadiums. Please refer to this map that specifically points out parking garages.

Our Law School host has requested parking for attendees at our event in the Baltimore Grand Garage.  The Grand is located directly across the street from the law school, on Paca Street.  If for some reason there is no space available in the Grand, you could also park in one of the Lexington Market garages, about 2 blocks north of the law school on Paca Street.  The Pearl Garage on West Fayette Street is also nearby. Please Do Not mark on the street.  While street parking is okay in the early afternoon, restrictions go into effect around 3:00 pm because of rush hour.  They start towing cars promptly at 3:00.
