The National Medal of Technology and Innovation (NMTI) is the nation’s highest honor for technological achievement, bestowed by the president of the United States on America's leading innovators.
There have been more than 240 laureates honored since the first year of the award in 1985. The pages below display the laureates by year. More information about each laureate can be found at the website of the National Science & Technology Medals Foundation, a USPTO partner.
The most recent laureates are for the 2024 class, announced by the White House in January 2025. Laureates may not be named every year.
More about the award, nomination requirements, and the evaluation committee is available on the NMTI homepage.
